Once again, I have moved my business. Starting the beginning of November I will be back at Palms Salon on Americana downtown. I am sad to leave Caritta, but due to some changes that were not beneficial to my business I chose to move on. I am really looking forward to working with Carol Caves again. She is such a talent artist, as are the other stylists working at the Palms. I am hoping that this will be a chance for me to be reinspired and continue to grow as a stylist. I so appreciate my clients who have followed me around to my various locations, and I am sure that they will love the Palms as much as I do. If you have any questions feel free to call me at Palms Salon at 208-331-9113.

I wanted to share these beautiful photos of a bride that I did this spring. This is a great example of a gorgeous updo that still looks soft and relaxed. The bride brought me a photo of a style she had done previously that she liked which inspired me to do this style. I used a technique that I learned at a class I took with world renowned stylist Vivienne MacKinder. If you love this style and would like something like it, you can contact Camilla at 208-331-9113 for a consultation for your wedding. Thank you Kristi Sheriff Photography for these amazing photos.

Congratulations! You're Engaged!

I wanted to take a chance to introduce a friend of mine and fabulous wedding coordinator, Brandi Reiland with Soiree. Brandi is amazing at what she does and I wanted to hear what she had to say about the importance of hiring a coordinator for your wedding. Thank you Brandi!

Congratulations- you’re engaged! Now it’s time to start planning- still on the fence about a wedding coordinator? Let’s look at the facts: you’re planning a special day that showcases your love and your union, but you can’t overlook the fact that you are also planning a gathering for hundreds of guests and it will inevitably be the biggest party you’ll ever throw in your lifetime. You wouldn’t build a house with out at least some guidance would you?

A lot of brides are confused with what a wedding coordinator will do for them, and the first myth to nix is that we take the planning away from you. Depending on the level of service you choose, we can either simply guide and advise you in your decision and budget planning, or we can be very hands on- in either case we are never there to make your wedding into anything other than a reflection of you and your relationship. A better analogy of what a wedding planner can be to you would be a broker, financial planner, counselor, and designer all in one. We’ll find the lighting specialist to create the perfect ambiance and we’ll make sure you know about all of the gluten-free pastry chefs in town. On a tight budget? That’s our job too- a good wedding planner will create a realistic budget to ensure you know exactly what you can afford to spend. Here at Soiree the budgets we create even include a projected and a high cost column, so when you meet with a vendor you’ll know just how high you can go and still stay within your budget.

Finally, there’s the wedding day. A good wedding coordinator will spend at least 20 hours on your wedding plans before the day arrives. Confirmations on vendor arrivals and departures, contract review, layout preparation, and overall planning of all of the logistics involved will and should take that many hours. Did you know that our finalized timelines are normally anywhere from 8-16 pages long? That’s because we take the necessary time to document everything that will happen in detailed order. On the actual day we come early and stay late and often wear several hats: Hostess, Director, Manager, Family Advisor, and Personal Assistant. Basically, we become your eyes and ears because you should be doing nothing but being a bride and a guest at this life changing event.

If you’re still on the fence as to whether having a wedding coordinator is the right choice for you, we invite you to sit down with us in a complimentary, no-obligation consultation. We are confident that when you leave, you’ll realize that whether you choose a package or even just a few planning hours for guidance, involving a wedding coordinator is one of the best plans you can make to ensure a smooth, budget-friendly event.

Happy Planning!

Photos with Cristi

These are some of my most favorite pictures from the collaboration I did with photographer Cristi Dame.  I just had the chance to check her blog recently and am always amazed at what an amazing talent she has.  If you haven't checked her website you absolutely have to.  Cristi just went to India recently and has some of her phenomenal photos from her trip posted on her blog.  I am so lucky to have the opportunity to work with a photographer of her caliber.  Cristi's photos are not only beautiful, but evoke such emotion as well.  The most difficult part about working with her is trying to choose my favorite photos.

This project was so much fun to do with her because we both had the chance to get creative.  Cristi definitely has plenty of creativity to express.  I am always inspired by her work and am so excited to get to work more with her in the future.  Thank you Cristi for this amazing chance to see our work come to life.  You can visit Cristi's website to see more of this project at www.cristidamephotography.com.

Introducing Raechelle

I am so excited to introduce Raechelle. She has been a client of mine for several years and I was so excited to work with her on creating this beautiful look for her wedding. We definitely went with a vintage inspired look here. This look is very classic and variations of it can be used to customize a look for any bride who appreciates this style. I had the opportunity to create this entire look from the cut and color, eyebrow shaping, hairstyle and makeup design, to the final touches on Raechelle's veil. Thank you Rachelle for being a wonderful client and thank you to Easom Photography for providing the photos. If you are interested knowing more about how I can help you create a great look for your wedding, or if you just need a new look for your cut and color feel free to call Camilla at 208-342-6760 ext.11.

Bride of the Week

I would like to introduce you to Megan, a wonderful bride who I had the opportunity to work with last summer. I did makeup for Megan and her bridal party of nine people all together! They were so great to work with and a beautiful group of women. Megan wanted to really accent her eyes, which was done by creating a very subtle smokey effect with browns and golds. To give Megan's eyes more definition I used black liquid liner, and false eyelashes. The nude lip color with the gloss finish was a great choice to keep Megan's look soft. It was so much fun to get a break from styling and just focus on the makeup this time around. This was a great look for Megan and can also be customized to fit any bride by adjusting the colors used. If you love this look and would like to know more about how I can help you achieve a beautiful look for you and your wedding party, call 208-342-6760 ext.11. Thanks to Megan and her party, and to Bradley Rae Photography for providing such beautiful photos!

Introducing Cristine

I am happy to introduce Cristine as one of the models I did hair and makeup for on a project I did with photographer Cristi Dame. Cristine's look is one that can be customized to any bride who wants to look and feel relaxed on her wedding day. I used warm browns and golds for her eyemakeup with a soft pink lipcolor. Her hair was done in soft waves that complimented the softness of her makeup. Look for more of my work with Cristi Dame in the future. Cristi is a wonderful photographer who has a unique talent. I am looking forward to working with her more in the future. If you have any questions about this look, or how I can help you create a beautiful look for your wedding feel free to call me to schedule a complimentary consultation.
